CVRx Completes $65 Million Series D Round

MAPLE GROVE, MN -- Medical device developer CVRx announced the completion of its fourth round of venture capital financing from a syndicate of equity investors.

CVRx makes an implantable device, called the Rheos System, that claims to lower blood pressure in patients who are resistant to medications, which occurs in roughly 25% of patients according to the company.  The system is undergoing clinical trials in the U.S. and Europe.

Investors in the round were led by Johnson & Johnson, and included BBT Fund, New Enterprise Associates, Thomas Weisel Healthcare Venture Partners, InterWest Partners, ABS Ventures, Frazier Healthcare Ventures and Sightline Partners.  Total investment in the company now exceeds $125 million.
